This Privacy Policy describes how Secret Diary ("we", "our", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile application.
1. Overview
Secret Diary is a personal journaling app. Your diary entries are stored primarily on your device. We do not read the content of your notes unless you choose to contact support and include that information in your message.
2. Information you provide
- Diary content: text, titles, tags, moods, stickers, templates, and photos you add to notes.
- App preferences: language, theme/display mode, and other settings stored on your device.
- PIN / lock settings: if enabled, your diary lock code is stored locally using secure storage on your device. We do not receive your PIN.
- Support messages: if you contact us by email, we receive the information you include in your message.
3. Information collected automatically
- Analytics: we use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage (for example, screens visited and feature interactions). This helps us improve the app.
- Crash reports: we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash logs and diagnostic information when the app fails.

4. Optional cloud backup and sign-in
If you enable backup or sign in, limited account and backup data may be processed by:
- Google Sign-In / Google Drive (Android, iOS, or macOS builds where available)
- Apple iCloud (where available on supported Apple platforms)
- Local backup stored on your device or files you export
Backup content is used only to save and restore your notes. Google and Apple process data according to their own privacy policies when you use their services.
5. Device permissions
The app may request access to:
- Camera and photo library to attach images to notes
- Biometric authentication (if supported and enabled on your device) for quicker diary unlock
- Internet access for analytics, crash reporting, subscriptions, backup, and support links
You can deny permissions in your device settings, though some features may not work.
6. How we use information
- Provide core diary, backup, lock, and Premium features
- Maintain app security and fix bugs
- Understand usage and improve the product
- Respond to support requests
- Process subscriptions through platform billing providers
7. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app, such as Google (Firebase, Google Sign-In/Drive), Apple (iCloud, App Store), and RevenueCat, and only as needed to provide their services.
8. Data retention
Diary content remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Backup copies remain in the backup service you selected until you remove them. Analytics and crash data are retained according to Firebase retention settings.

- Delete notes, backups, or the app at any time
- Disable analytics/crash collection where your platform allows it
- Manage subscription and billing in App Store or Google Play settings

10. Children's privacy
Secret Diary is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
11. International users
Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the app, you understand that data may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
